I am trying out Fable 5.1 before my subscription ends.
Two things I can see:
(Btw, the cheaper Cache Read is not applied to Sub users. API only...)
1. Claudish is fixed.
- Now I don't have to use the skill I made to translate Claudish into English anymore.
2. Token Usage is massive.
- I always use the Codex Plugin as workers while keeping Fable as orchestrators to save tokens. With Fable 5.1, I feel the usage is lower than before.
One of the most underrated features of AI harnesses is the hooks system.
Although I have cancelled my Claude Subscription and Codex is my main buddy now, sometimes I look back.
Claude Code covers almost everything an AI can do, such as reading files, running terminal commands, and managing memory. It can also automatically change the AI's inputs on the fly (like fixing a file path before it runs), call webhooks, or ask another AI model to review an action.
Whereas OpenAI Codex CLI takes a much simpler, stricter approach. Its hooks are turned off by default and must be enabled manually. Codex focuses mainly on checking terminal commands as a simple pass/fail security guard: a script can allow or block the command, but it cannot modify its inputs. Just casual implementation and code changes are fine, but when I design a multi-agent workflow, I wish Codex offered a bit more here.

I decided to cancel my Claude Max subscription. The recent reduction of the weekly limit was the first shot, and the 20x usage scam was the final shot for me. It is disgusting to know that two $100 plans give more weekly usage than one $200 plan. What a scam.
OpenAI has proposed Nov 12, 2026 as the cutoff for Cursor’s direct model access. Future models such as Astra will not be provided.
OpenAI models will not disappear from Cursor entirely. BYOK, the Codex IDE extension, and compatible gateways remain available.
We’re ending our partnership with Cursor following its acquisition by SpaceX. Under our proposal, Cursor’s direct access to our models would end on November 12.
We know that the people most affected by this decision are the developers who rely on OpenAI models in Cursor. We care about their experience in this transition and we’re ready to go above and beyond to support them.

Anthropic is ending the 50% increase to the usage limit on September 14.
Then the standard weekly limit rises by 25% and stays there, eventually cutting the weekly limit by 17% from what we have now.
Quite an interesting and bold move to take in this competition. Honestly, at this point, Fable 5.1 must be great.
Here is how you can save your money instead of spending extra for Grok Bot:
1. Have an old PC that has been sleeping on your bookshelf for years.
2. Install Linux for peace of mind.
3. Set up Hermes agents and connect to your Telegram.
Then configure the agents like how you want them. They will have all the tools they need for most of the tasks you ask for from AI agents.
