I have been in this game for far too long to understand when things are not normal. As rightly pointed out by @achinamayya.

This is a good attempt at changing the topic, but where did I specifically mention BJP or Congress?

The problem is that every issue in India is immediately reduced to “BJP vs Congress,” even when the discussion is about something much bigger.

Let’s look at the facts.

The protest began because of the NEET paper leak.

That was a legitimate reason to protest. A paper leak destroys the future of honest students. It should never happen.

My condolences to the families of the 23 people who lost their lives.

Now let’s ask the next question.

Will one person’s resignation fix the system?

I don’t think so.

The real issue is the system itself. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts these exams, must be held accountable. If the system has failed, then policies, processes, and accountability need to change. That is where the conversation should be.

My concern starts with what happened after the movement gained momentum.

The organisers reportedly said it would remain a non-political movement. But soon after, leaders from political parties began appearing at the protests. That naturally raises questions.

If a movement promises to stay non-political, why should political parties become part of it?

If organisers cannot prevent that, then either they have lost control of the movement, or they have chosen to allow it.

Large-scale protests also require significant resources. It is reasonable to ask who is funding them and whether that funding comes with influence. Asking those questions should not be controversial.

There are other questions too.

How did violence begin?

Where did the stones come from?

Why were police personnel injured?

Why were students at the front while some leaders appeared to remain behind?

These are questions that deserve answers.

If students genuinely came out to seek justice, they should never become pawns in anyone else’s political strategy.

My fear is that the original issue - the paper leak is slowly being overshadowed by politics.

And this is not the first time people have argued that a protest has evolved beyond its original cause. Similar debates have taken place during other major protest movements in India as well.

Finally, if we are talking about accountability, then it should apply to everyone equally.

A paper leak in one state is wrong.

A paper leak in another state is also wrong.

Whether the government is BJP, Congress, AAP, or anyone else, the standard should remain the same.

This is not about defending one political party or attacking another.

It is about building a system where paper leaks don’t happen in the first place.

If we only argue over which party should resign, but never fix the institutions that keep failing, then nothing changes.

Let’s stop making every discussion about BJP versus Congress.

Let’s start talking about how to build a system that actually protects students.
