मान्यता है कि उदयपुर में जब अच्छी बारिश नहीं होती, तो गणगौर घाट सराफ़ा बाज़ार में महिलाएं दुकानों और मंदिरों के सामने मटके फोड़ती हैं। इस दौरान दुकानदार नाराज़ होकर गालियां देते हैं, जिससे माना जाता है कि इंद्रदेव अप्रसन्न होकर क्रोधित हो जाते हैं और फिर तेज़ बारिश होती है। यह अनोखी परंपरा प्राचीन काल से चली आ रही है। हाल ही का एक वीडियो जिसमें यह देखा जा सकता है।

मेवाड़ को मराठा साम्राज्य का हिस्सा दिखाना इतिहास के तथ्यों को तोड़-मरोड़कर प्रस्तुत करना है। मेवाड़ मराठों से प्रभावित अवश्य हुआ, परंतु वह कभी भी मराठा साम्राज्य में विलय नहीं हुआ। ऐसी प्रस्तुति छात्रों के बीच गलत ऐतिहासिक समझ पैदा कर सकती है, इसलिए इसे सुधारने की आवश्यकता है। 18वीं शताब्दी में मराठाओं का उत्तर भारत में प्रभाव बढ़ा, लेकिन मेवाड़ पर उनका केवल सैन्य दबाव और कर वसूली (चौथ) का प्रभाव रहा, न कि सीधा शासन। महाराणा की सत्ता, प्रशासन और मेवाड़ की स्वायत्तता बनी रही। मराठों ने मेवाड़ पर प्रत्यक्ष शासन या पूर्ण नियंत्रण नहीं स्थापित किया ।पाठ्यक्रम में यह भूल सुधारी जानी चाहिए। 🚩

Depicting Mewar as a part of the Maratha Empire is a distortion of historical facts. While Mewar was indeed influenced by the Marathas, it was never annexed or incorporated into the Maratha Empire. Such representation can create a false historical understanding among students and therefore needs correction.

In the 18th century, the Marathas expanded their influence across North India, but in Mewar their impact was limited to military pressure and the imposition of tribute (Chauth), not direct rule. The sovereignty of the Maharana, along with Mewar’s administration and autonomy, remained intact. The Marathas never established direct governance or complete control over Mewar.

This inaccuracy in the curriculum must be rectified to uphold the true essence of history. 🚩
