No, it’s just an “othering” of the opposite sex and turning disappointment into resentment as a coping mechanism.
It hurts less than admitting “I truly want a deep connection with the opposite sex but haven’t found one and that likely means I need to look inward as much as outward to find why and make changes”.
@RichardHanania Honestly, we should. Then all we would have to do is get people to swap “communism” with “authoritarian slave economics” and everyone would back the right model.
@muheediva01 More people need to start businesses and get experience. Costs for property go up with time. Inflation, taxes, bigger maintenance needs. Landlords can’t operate at a loss.
You don’t own the property, you are paying them to use their property.
Gratitude and honesty.
Both sexes tend to forget everything their partner offers them and why they committed to each other in the first place. That kills a relationship. Take time daily to feel gratitude for your partner (and other aspects of your life!).
And when you find your feelings change for your partner, talk through it openly. Not just attraction. Your enjoyment of free time together. Your level of excitement for a future with him. If you find yourself respecting him less. Be considerate, but tell him. If you actually care about the health of your relationship.
Good relationships aren’t hard but they do require effort and intentionality.
@NancyMace Popularity isn’t the only important measure. Historic outcomes matter just as much.
Property taxes, especially LVT, are the only tax that are beneficial economically. And it helps young people afford housing and disincentives companies and people from hoarding land indefinitely
@LisaBritton By the strictest definition, true. Always have.
In the end, power is determined by who can use force to attain and maintain it. That would be men. And will stay such unless/until women control some AI army that men do not.
I'm not making this as a moral statement. Just a fact.
@TiffanyxFong Rompers are like short bangs. Sure, theoretically some women might be able to pull it off. But I haven’t met a woman yet who looks better for it.
@NancyMace Seniors shouldn’t get more government support than young families. Period.
America used to be the land of opportunity and hope for young people. Now we squeeze them dry to pamper old people.
@MjTheHunter 1) play test
2) if possible, take a break from it so you can re approach with fresh perspective. Even a silent walk for a few hours as a break is better than ignoring the feelings.
@ThrillaRilla369 Property taxes pay for ongoing services like fire department, road maintenance, etc.
Property tax is a much better form of taxation than income, inheritance, sales, etc. as it incentivizes better utilization of land which is one of the most scarce resources.
@wil_da_beast630 Yeah, I’d like to see the exact wording on that one.
100% of men should say yes to it. If you wouldn’t be willing to break into a pharmacy to save your woman, do not marry her. You don’t actually love her in a committed way.
@jmhorp Houses were not viewed as financial planning back then.
Politicians weren’t being voted in to artificially raise their valuation. They were just an important resource.
@mattyglesias Am I the only one that gets big Uncanny Valley vibes from Talarico?
Even if I was for his policies, he seems more fake than any other Texas politician I know. Like he is trying to play the part of a good man after having only watched some 50s TV shows and missing the point.
@lilbabygandhi As someone who has been to 10 or more European countries, I think the US has just as much cultural variety as the European continent. And better food and nature (though Scandinavia is close).
But Asia has us beat no question.
