Following a review of this week’s radio commentary, Weymouth Football Club confirms that it has parted company with Ben Ashelford. Ben will no longer be commentating on matches or participating in any official club activities.

While we recognise that football often evokes passionate opinions, we are disappointed by the tone and content of Ben’s recent remarks, as well as the subsequent misrepresentation of events.

We extend our thanks to Ben for his time and dedication over the years. His commentary has been enjoyed by many supporters, and we acknowledge the contribution he has made to the club’s media presence.

The club will now begin the process of identifying a suitable replacement to continue delivering engaging and professional matchday coverage.

No further comments will be made on this matter, which is now considered closed.

Shame the usual suspect Roger Hughes ruined a good game between 2 very good sides.

How a ref consistently ruins so many games, not knowing the rules and making it about him is beyond me.

We can confirm that Jeremiah Gyebi has been released from the club.

The player was originally signed on a non-contract basis and now departs.

We would like to wish Jeremiah all the best for the future.

To think I had multiple on here telling me Gyebi was good. Glad it was aired on BBC for all to see.

He didn't even find his level against a team 2 leagues lower than us. Admittedly, it wasn't all on him, the entire back 4 were fucking dreadful.

Glad the manager has gone, not so good the chairman, other board members should have walked first, only time will tell with fresh ideas etc. worrying though

As for things improving. We can only hope, I thought going down again, was the best thing for us, but it seems to be going in the wrong direction..

@OffTheLineBlog @WimborneTownFC Yeah granted he isn't being covered by the full back but surely the basics of being a centre back is clearing your lines and winning the first ball?

He does that and we arguably don't concede those 2 goals!

I'll finish on what I said earlier, let's hope the new guy does better

As frustrating as it is, performances off the field are far more telling than those on it. Not sure which is worse!.🤣
