Most analytics show day 2 picks are systematically undervalued and day 1 picks outside the top 10 are overvalued. Teams trading up in the middle of round 1 are lighting draft capital on fire every single year.

@TheJoeMarino @KyleCrabbs The NFL needs to copy the NBA — blowout = starters sit. “Garbage time” exists to protect stars and develop backups, yet the NFL still waits to long to pull players (example Jayden Daniels) while young players lose real reps that would benefit in case of future injuries.

@TheJoeMarino @KyleCrabbs Take: the raiders should not take a qb with the first pick. The team is nowhere near ready. Trade back, get as many picks as you can, and trade Crosby as well. Run it back with geno, bolster the o-line for Jeanty, and find your qb next year with the picks you accrued.

@TheJoeMarino @KyleCrabbs College football needs to play by NFL rules. If these guys want to be pros, they should be playing the pro game. 2 feet inbounds, no clock stops for first downs, etc. It would shrink the learning curve that’s already steep enough when they get to Sundays.

@TheJoeMarino @KyleCrabbs The college football down rule needs to go. If you’re not touched, you’re not down, just like in the NFL. Letting players get ruled down for slipping or diving catches doesn’t prepare players for Sundays, the rules should match the NFL.

One 60-yard run and five 1-yard gains is 10.83 YPC. Great! Except that’s five unsuccessful runs. Success rate, EPA per rush, and missed tackles forced actually tell you if a back is helping your team.

Division titles shouldn’t matter more than actual wins. Seeding should be based on record, not geography.
