Heya Starkey, longtime firstime, love the show. Anyway, what I been sayin is, if we wanna win, we gotta put points on the board. And if we do that, more than the other guy, we win, and if not, well, we gotta answer that question, you know what I'm sayin?
Some of my sources think @KamalaHarris is the most likely Democratic presidential nominee, while others think she isn't in the top 8.
Watch to see why....
I'm seeing a lot of people sharing 5 American authors they admire. What about 5 American novels?
My choices would perhaps be:
- Moby-Dick (Melville)
- East of Eden (Steinbeck)
- The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Twain)
- The Great Gatsby (Fitzgerald)
- The House of the Seven Gables (Hawthorne)
- The Sound and the Fury (Faulkner)
Yes, I can count, but I couldn't leave Faulkner out of the list.
Xi Yin just left Harvard for OpenAI.
String theorist. Youngest full professor in Harvard history.
His words: "AI gives me 100x speedup. Weeks of output would take me 10 years."
Then: "I don't believe there's any human intellectual ability AI cannot replicate."
The man who said that is the one who would know.

I was at the Great Salt Lake last year to see Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty, and while I hope Utah can restore this incredibly weird and beautiful place, this scheme sounds an awful lot like carbon credits.
Fine overview of a giant but surprisingly little-known environmental problem: Great Salt Lake is drying up, exposing 800 square miles of lake bed laced with toxic metals from industry, which get blown as dust over huge populated area. https://t.co/e05mfTjHdk
Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas
Too much money has made industry, especially tech, soft and lazy. Well, I may just be a country MBA, but round these parts, efficieny is equally a measure of speed AND cost.
Bio systems are very energy efficient, and the brain can do an enormous amount of pattern-recognizing and language processing etc. for far fewer calories than a GPU farm. Might be cheaper to go back to hiring recent grads at $75K/year and putting some powerbars in the breakroom.
Corporate America enters its AI reckoning phase as IT bills keep rising and consumer sentiment nosedives.
