PITCHES: @BlockClubCHI is looking for Pride Month stories based in Chicago!
Think:
🌈 Feature on a Chicago LGBTQ+-owned business.
🌈 Looking back on a piece of lesser-known local LGBTQ history.
🌈 Highlighting how locals are fighting for LGBTQ+ rights & protections
etc.
Swelling with pride! I am biased, but Chicago reporters — at the Trib, Sun-Times, Block Club, South Side Weekly, I could go on — covered the impact of this immigration enforcement campaign with such remarkable precision, bravery and care. They deserve all of the praise.
Some Personal News: I’m excited to announce I’ll be joining ESPN 1000 as a part-time on-air producer.
Before you ask, my DePaul coverage isn’t going anywhere. However, it will not be as frequent as it’s been, but I’ll still be at Wintrust.
Really excited to this opportunity!

In journo school, we were taught everyone has their own interview style. Mine is generally being both extremely sympathetic while also being kind of awkward. It makes people feel at ease but also looks terrible on camera.
