This is actually insane. If Liverpool, Man Utd or Spurs were achieving this the media would be salivating. As it's Arsenal they are thinking of any excuse to downplay it. Always been the way! #Arsenal
Rodri with two blatant yellow card challenges in quick succession. Just a reminder he was already booked in the first half.
The most protected player in the history of football. He’d be sent off every game if the rules were applied to him.
That’s why Gyökeres should be kept on for as long as medically possible.
When games get stretched, his goal threat rises.
Too often has he been brought off early in games which has negatively impacted his ability to score goals.
Look at his impact away at Inter. And now today.
Remember how nervous City were when getting over the line first time around under Mancini?
They needed guys like Agüero and Yaya Touré to supersede tactics by doing ridiculous things.
Rice does it most weeks. Saka too.
Dynamics are preventing the others from doing it.
I find it insulting when people say our corners are annoying because they’re “like Rory Delap’s long throws.”
Rory Delap’s throw-ins led to 18 goals in his entire career. Our corners have led to 19 goals this season alone.
So please, give us credit, we’re much more annoying.
Gyökeres could do a better job of telling his teammates he’s unhappy after not receiving a pass.
That’s part of being a mental giant.
Haaland, for example, has an aura which exudes presence. So does Cristiano.
The best #9’s demand to be found.
I remember Arsenal used to get bullied physically by a lot of teams but now here we are against lower league opposition where many claim it’s more physical and set piece focused, scoring from 2 corners 🤣
Sometimes you've just got to give time, time.
I say this because of Madueke and Eze.
A blind man can see how special they are.
But Arsenal's way of playing is in Saka, Martinelli, and Trossard's DNA.
Madueke and Eze adapted quickly, but to touch the DNA it takes time.
95th minute vs Aston Villa
91st minute vs Wolves
96th minute vs Crystal Palace
These late goals conceded are a real problem. If it’s a one-off it’s really not that deep - it can happen to anyone - but when it’s happened in three of our last four domestic fixtures it’s very bad.
If we’re really serious about winning the Premier League we should move on one or two of our squad players in attack and pay that release clause for Antoine Semenyo. He is absolutely class.
Since he made his debut, Bukayo Saka has been England’s best player by far. He’s contributing a goal or assist every other game and always seems to pop up with a goal whenever the rest of the team look pretty average. The definition of a gamechanger.
Still work for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal to do.
Flawless first half, spearheaded by Viktor Gyökeres.
He went off at half-time and the intensity dropped.
Peak Liverpool win 5-0. Peak City control the game with passing - THAT is the level.
Arsenal ended it defending in a 5-4-1…
Arsenal have not been as good as everyone is making them out be.
It's why I have been demanding more.
Last season, variance went against them (PSG being a key example).
This season, it has been on their side (bar Liverpool).
They have more levels to reach. Improvement needed.
Gary Neville really is the most clueless cunt. He’s already saying Arsenal have failed if we don’t win the PL from here.
We’re only 8 games in. We only have a 3 point lead. Lose one game and that lead is potentially gone within 90 minutes.
Way too early to make those claims.
