@Bengn1987@gw850 I still think Elanga and Wissa are decent Premier League players, just killed by the price tags and expectations, which then creates a pressure they can’t hack. 70m for Van Hecke would be similar as he’s good, but not that good.
@cjhhhh21 Isn’t this the type of deal we did last summer and we’re now suffering for it? I think he’s decent but won’t be worth the fee they pay. Like I still think Wissa/Elanga are decent PL players but their price tags are why they’ve failed.
@bensprattjourn@VauquelinFan I guess whether Howe is too cautious to play youth or not is tied to how good the young players we have are. I’d argue Murphy and Shahar have warranted more minutes, but I’m only speculating based on how they’re rated by others and our weaknesses in both positions.
If I was this lad, I’d definitely go to Brighton if he has the choice. Our main success story from type of transfer has ended up at Brighton to actually get first team football. #nufc
🚨⏳ EXCL | Newcastle have entered the race for Zadok Yohanna. The interest is concrete. However, Yohanna and Brighton have an agreement in place, as revealed and 100% confirmed again. #NUFC
Brighton are still in direct negotiations with AIK. Brighton are not giving up despite Newcastle and other clubs. A decision is expected soon.

@rockandrollmag A teenager with a handful of games in Sweden would definitely get in? I haven't seen the lad play, so can't really comment on his ability, but that would be a mental step up. Doubt its realistic in the short term.
@MagpieLairdy@NUFC__USA 😂 I’m not picking the team. No manager would pick a kid with a handful of games in Sweden over Elanga or Murphy. You’d be setting him up to fail.
@Bazro10@Diamond8618 He wouldn’t play ahead of them. He’s had 20 games in the Swedish league. Howe takes a while to trust youth but nearly every manager would pick Elanga/Murphy over him.
@Bazro10@Diamond8618 Ayari a good example of a player leaving the Swedish league at becoming a regular in the PL. That’s a very good reason for him to go there and I’m sure they’ll be hammering that point home.
@LiamJobes1 Aye it wasn’t, but if you’re a player, you see a better pathway at Brighton. It’s something we need to change. Osula is a good start, but need more like him.
@NUFC__USA Brighton can offer the Conference League as guaranteed game time. I’d be hopeful we could win out, but not sure it would be straightforward.
@steve_lowthian@bensprattjourn Two had played Premier League football before they joined us, while Miley came through our academy. Not quite the same as signing a teenager from a lower European league. That’s Brighton’s speciality.
