Paper accepted! Our study of the geospatial #exposome suggests that prioritizing air pollution and VOC emission controls, and site remediation in vulnerable communities may help reduce asthma disparities

Congratulations to my student Yujing on passing her PhD defense with minor revisions! Her work in #exposome has been a great journey to supervise — just a few final steps before graduation. Well done, Dr. Yujing-to-be!
Thank you Renee for hosting us at the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, and with Crystal for sharing her work. Looking forward to a fruitful collaboration on pediatric asthma!
📑New paper publication
Exposome-wide associations and polyexposure risk scores of workplace “asthmagens” in adult asthma.
Congrats @jakekei
Happy to be part of this fantastic exposomics research.

Side stepping the autism debate, when I hear a doctor state that Tylenol is extremely safe it tells me they weren’t paying attention to their toxicology lessons. Arguably, THE most toxic OTC medication. Common cause of liver injury and depletes glutathione. Even at the proper dose it causes mild toxicity. Every toxicology textbook highlights this.
.@KristinTsuo, @genetisaur, & @dalygene just wrote the best proteomics paper I've read.
They convincingly show how smoking and alcohol (aka, the environment) dramatically influences proteomics data.
Some 🤯 results
1) proteomics predicts quantity & frequency of alcohol consumed
Glad to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and catch up with my postdoc mentors at the ISES-ISEE 2025 conference in Atlanta. See you all at the next meeting!
Congratulations to Yujing on receiving the PhD IMPAC Award! She will be doing a 3-month exchange in Singapore to work on an early-life #exposome study with our collaborator @EvelynLooXL. See you again in December!
Our latest AI method for analyzing the genetic basis of diseases is out: scPRS. Combines genetics and single cell data to find new genes underlying disease and causative cell types. https://t.co/Syw1sXjd0i
Curious about how polyexposure risk scores (PXS) and pathway-based polygenic risk scores (PRS) influence adult asthma? Chat with my team during the afternoon poster sessions at #ISESISEE2025 in Atlanta! (PXS: P16-11, Mon; PRS: P38-35, Tue) #exposome
Diseases with low heritability suggest that the #exposome can have important implications for their causes and development.
I thank my student, Yeli, for creating these nice figures showing heritability (and percent of total deaths). Feel free to use them as needed!
The #exposome could play a significant role in many chronic diseases. This global study published in Nature Medicine clarifies the link between the #exposome and accelerated aging

Great update on the #exposome outlining progress and exciting potential - I wish I was starting out now! "If you can look into the seeds of time, and say which grain will grow and which will not, speak then unto me." W.S. @interexposome@heap_exposome https://t.co/pTW5smbhZF
Whale exposomes measured in skin biopsies of free ranging fin whales. Hundreds of exposures detected, but it was concerning to discover so many pharmaceuticals in these animals. Many exposures correlated with gene expression, suggesting effects. @AcesSthlmUni@scilifelab
