@MemoirJoyGirl Because you never get that outsider insight. What might be clear to you (because you know what you meant) may not be just as clear to someone who sees your book for the first time. Sure, you can fix typos or polish grammar yourself, but that's as far as it goes.
@eschaubz I don't mind either. If the title serves any function (e.g. the book is in multiple POV's), then I'd prefer a title. If not, I'm totally fine with just Chapter 1.
This was one of inspirations for my recently finished #NaNoWriMo project. One of the best stories by late Jack Ketchum I've ever read (and I've probably read most of them) - and surprisingly short.
What pieces of art inspired your writing, #WritingCommunity?
@klhicks912 I'd love to believe they do. There's plenty of misogyny and racism in "The Heiress". In "Reborn" - maybe not so much, but you could argue there's mild xenophobia and nature vs nurture dilemma.
I fell asleep, so... #NaNoWriMo day 20 and last - 32174 words. The story is over. I'll take a few months break before I start rewriting, because we all know what first NaNo drafts look like. But I'm so glad I got to the end!
#WritingCommunity
#NaNoWriMo day 19 - 27812 words. It's almost there. I've got a few scenes left and I'll be done and I can... I'm not even sure what. I don't really have any pending projects. Maybe I'll start another #CYOA book, because last one was fun?
#WritingCommunity
@klhicks912 No, absolutely not. I have plenty of dry spells because there are more important things. Unless I have a goal such as NaNoWriMo, then yes, I stick to it.
I am absolutely abysmal when it comes to updates. #NaNoWriMo day 18 - 24288 words. I've got about 5k more to write and I want to do it by day 20, so... it's manageable. And hopefully it will happen.
#WritingCommunity
I forgot to update my progress for a few days, I apologise. #NaNoWriMo day 14 - over 17000 words written already. It was a busy period, but as you can see, quite a fruitful as well. I think I'll try to finish the story by the day 20.
#WritingCommunity
#NaNoWriMo day 9 - 9029 words. I've spent the entire day with my family, so I didn't particularly have much time for writing, but I squeezed in another 500 words today. Sunday and Monday should be more fruitful, but we'll see.
#writingcommunity
#NaNoWriMo day 8. A decent day. I've got to 8500 words and if it wasn't so late, I'd probably hit the 9k mark today. At least I know what I want to write for the next couple scenes - and then I might be back to improvising again.
#WritingCommunity
#NaNoWriMo day 7 - crossed the 7k mark. It's slow and steady and I've reached the first real writer's block. I'm not too concerned yet. I'll improvise and see where it gets me. After all, it's just a draft, right?
#WritingCommunity
@realeverywriter Absolutely not. Too much noise, too many people looking over your shoulder. Unless I'm just jotting down ideas on the bus, then it's probably fine. But "proper" writing - never.
