@xForest_Ghoulx Zuko is an A-grade bender from a family of "anything less than perfection is failure" expectations, and spent most of the show surrounded by prodigies of historic scale.
All right, i get shortening for time, but I DO NOT like Zuko's firebending reveal coming from the avatar/Azula fight instead of in defense of the earth kingdom villagers. It's a key point in his shifting worldview!
Aang's characterization is maybe the most notably different. He's much less of a showoff. Much more serious. He carries the weight of it all much more visibly.
Look one of my knits to pick with LoK was that the modeled adult Aang's design on one of the white showrunners. But look at our Aang! He gets to be an Asian teenager!
watching Live Action ATLA S1 finale:
-It's fun in a B-movie kind of way.
-Very cool seeing that many indigenous actors in the NWT.
- the weight of Aang being TWELVE really hits harder when its an actual child surrounded by actual adults.
@Lurker656039@TheAnnaGat Yeah, i would work around some "rough" neighborhoods as a 5'4" dude, but I look more latino in the dark & had ambient pissed-off energy at the time, so I never had an issue.
@Aifeala@JeffFeathersto8@Telegraph To build off this analogy: I think what's happening w autism right now is that a lot of people with correctable vision are getting labeled 'blind' rather than being given the right glasses.
Once wrote out a HC abt voting where Armand is a substack anarchist who believes voting is a distraction from REAL praxis like throwing bricks (which he also does not do).
@s9008972345@Menkvi I know what CBT is. I've read up on it, and I've done it with multiple therapists, for a variety of issues. It has not worked as well for me as other modalities. This is a common experience.
