Me: Imagine if Twitter were just a place to discuss issues earnestly with other people, rather than a portal for sarcastic abuse.
Also me: Imagine if you weren’t a part of the problem, genius.
@joshgnosis Best Take is marketed as a great way to get around the difficult faces your many children pull while having their photo taken. Louis is now infamous for it.

@joshgnosis Isn’t it all likely a product of someone unwittingly using Google Pixel’s ‘best take’ function (or similar)? Phone camera AI chose the best faces but couldn’t merge the arm movement.
Easy to forget how ubiquitous this stuff is now.
@rachelrwithers “It is the legitimacy of the non-Indigenous occupation in this country that requires recognition, not the other way around”

Abbott: "And her further response to an obviously taken-aback, overwhelmingly politically correct audience that her convict ancestors had suffered scarcely less than her Indigenous ones."
I was there. The audience applauded. Many laughed at her quip about trauma.

Indigenous children's body SNAICC has slammed Peter Dutton and Jacinta Price for “repeating the same claims and calls they made earlier this year, again with no evidence and no credible solutions”, and says if anyone has any evidence, “they must report it to authorities”.
While Peter Dutton was in charge of our borders, he received report after report on how broken our migration system was.
And he did nothing to fix it.
He turned a blind eye while criminals abused our visa system.
The Opposition is pretending they care about indigenous people but when in Govt. they cut $534 million from indigenous legal aid, indigenous health, indigenous languages and indigenous child safety. Instead of trying to close the gap, they widened it.
@Kazz5b @Hellharbour Really not sure who your audience is here, but pretending all No voters understood everything about what they voted on and were in no way persuaded by pervasive racist messaging is… no in touch with reality.
@Kazz5b @Hellharbour No amount of detail would have changed the result. Every detail would have been represented by No as further reason to reject it.
Pretending otherwise is bizarre.
@KosSamaras This whole line of argument depends on the assumption that cutting the messaging another way would have significantly countered the lies and misinformation of the No campaign.
Do you have any examples of the way messaging could have been successfully adjusted to do this?
@timdunlop Where are all the outraged No voters? Weren’t we told repeatedly that it was just the mode that was the problem and we could all support an alternative referendum?
Was that all… a sham?!
