A friend I’ve known for 20 years but who I’ve only recently been getting to a more frank and open level with told me how he’d been abused as a child (including CSA) by his father so I shared some of my own story with him. Looking forward to more conversations in the future.

@Homeoffree61 I think you’re right. Trump is a symptom we also have symptoms in the UK. The dysfunction runs deeper. Unaddressed trauma may be a factor.

@ejtayloruk That’s a heartbreaking story. You deserved so much better. The joy of Father’s Day with my own kids is dampened by reflection on what might have been if my own father had stepped up rather than letting my abuse at the hands of his brother continue for so many years. Solidarity!
