Beyond blowflies: 🪰🕵️♂️
Our study on necrophagous Diptera from 160 forensic cases in Switzerland reveals the role of underutilized fly families like Phoridae. With COI barcoding for degraded samples! https://t.co/bYntdsg9hp

Can necrophagous beetles turn predators? 🪲🍖
Our new study refines methods to explore food ecology in predatory/necrophagous species. https://t.co/aimmxefnD5 #Ecology#FoodWebs#Entomology#ScienceResearch https://t.co/6ZgMmeQyvG
Do you know how #fireflies woo their partners? They dine by candlelight but also with a good perfume! With @jakubecp, we have proven that #pheromones still play a key role in the bioluminescent #courtship of a night firefly.

Good news everyone. No more guessing or rumors about the methods of larval storage. We have hard data on how long term storage affects DNA quality and morphology thanks to @FireflyerMartin , @karo_mahlerova,@SantiagoMonto20 and Jarin Qubaiova https://t.co/veo5w8GiyS
Today I have the honour to present at the press conference for the Night of Scientists 2023 at @vsecz. The topic is relativity of time from the insect perspective. #entomology
@BayouPhilosophy I loved my PhD (in entomology) too. I miss the feeling of having a clear goal with almost certain path to reach it. I don't miss the time pressure, though. Also I have friends in chemistry who were burned out after too many failed experiments/reactions.
@monotomidae @EntoTranslator It looks definitely Czech, unfortunately there are a number of villages of that name around here, so hard to tell. However, lucky you. Old-timers often marked just the continent. Also, the date might be February 7, 1906 as the month was/is often written in Roman numerals...
@masonfidino Please spread the knowledge as I hate this error as well. However this mistake is so human as people do not want to write about their failures. Is there a way how to write this without sounding like you did something wrong?
@masonfidino@renato_nali I think that writing some parts of results in present tense could be a very nice PR. You are sending a message about how confident or convinced you are about the generalizability of your claims.
@renatrigiorese@AcademicChatter I think you are projecting some characteristics to the term. For me the productivity means producing more stuff with less energy. You can produce more if you spend more time and effort, but that doesn't mean you are productive.
