Today, I met with the US Ambassador to #Somalia and #Somaliland, Richard H. Riley; the Deputy Chief of Mission, Steven G. Gilien; and members of the embassy's political office.
Briefings on human rights, politics, and development projects were provided throughout the meeting.
Ismail Jiheeye, a poet from #Somaliland, was arrested today for a poem in which he cursed Somaliland's president @Abdirahmanirro. The poet recited the poem after he previously accused the president of seizing a piece of land that he claimed belonged to him.
