Look at this footage. Rows of ewes locked in a milking parlour, machines attached to their udders. 🐑

Sheep don't make milk for us. They make it for their lambs, and only after giving birth. So dairy farms keep ewes in a constant cycle of pregnancy and lactation. Their lambs are taken away early so the milk can be sold, and the males, who have no value to the industry, are sent to slaughter at just weeks old.

The ewes themselves are usually killed after a few years of this, though sheep can live well over a decade.
Every piece of feta, pecorino or roquefort is the end of that story.

You don't need it. Delicious plant-based cheeses exist for every one of them, and every meal you choose is a vote for the world you want.
