It always amazes me how muslims always end up right.
First it was how they clean up in the toilet with water, everyone is trying to implement it now.
Next is fasting religiously every year, now everyone preaches intermittent fasting and its benefits.
Next is how they don't eat pork, they call it unclean. And by fact it can affect the brain because of tapeworms.

My Dear Nigerian brothers and sisters in Islam,

As-Salam 'Alaykum Wa RahmatuLlah Wa BarakātuHu,

In our beautiful but fragile country, the way we speak about our Christian neighbours matters more than ever. The Qur’ān teaches us the best manners (adab) when addressing people of other faiths. More than 25 times, Allah calls the followers of the Injil “Ahl al-Kitāb” (People of the Scripture) or “alladhīna ūtū l-Kitāb”. That is the respectful, default term Allah Himself chose.

Allah also tells us that among the Christians (Naṣārā) are priests and monks who are not arrogant, and they are the closest in affection to the believers (Q5:82). This is divine wisdom we must follow.

Therefore, I humbly appeal to every Nigerian Muslim: Stop using the word “kāfir / kuffār / kuffs” when speaking about or to our Christian brothers and sisters in daily life or in writings on social media and elsewhere.
Instead, use the beautiful Qur’ānic terms: “Ahl al-Kitāb”, “Naṣārā”, or simply “our Christian neighbours / fellow citizens”.

This is not watering down our faith, it is following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (ṣallāLlāhu 'alayhi wa sallam) who never insulted the Christians of Najrān or the monks he met. It is the fastest way to open hearts, reduce tension, and protect the peace of our nation.

May Allah guide us to what He loves and pleases Him.
