@andreas@SinistreTwittos I like the latest patch competed to last two, but there are definitely more intercepted passes now. I think this is because player movement got buffed, and they are moving at crazy speed again, to more likely to intercept. Passes need a big fix, for sure.
I keep saying that I preferred the initial version. I even preferred the beta compared to the current state. But you have to admit that the jockey was significantly worse than it should have been. Especially against ball roll speed boosts at the time. The problem is that they buffed the DEF AI, which wasn't the issue.
The main issue is that the attacking AI isn't working. So the best way, by a mile, to play attack and score goals is:
- Abuse attackers with 92+ pace
- Spam speed boosts
- Turn around in the spot for hours until your opponent loses patience.
So everyone without broken attackers, or with a different playstyle, is at a massive disadvantage atm.
@PlayGOALS
@andreas@james95fifa@PlayGOALS Give us some good strikers. Some players have insane strikers that give them a huge advantage. There needs to be a way for everyone to get a good one to make it fair.
100% true. The decline is insane. At least we had arcade fun with an unfinished game, but now you are trying to make a serious, competitive game, but the main issues are still there.
Until you fix AI, ATT, and DEF, there will be no real improvements. @PlayGOALS@andreas
Threw a good few hours into @PlayGOALS tonight & the news is it's really bad. They'd a nice little OTT arcade fun footy sim with an enjoyable skill gap & they've utterly destroyed it. Everyone AI defends & scores with cheese exploits. Worst attack AI I've ever seen in a game ๐ฌ๐ฎ
@PoTTicon@andreas@PlayGOALS I am not comparing them to EAFC. I enjoy Goals more, even in this current state. We are just pointing out the fact that the patches made the game worse. We want the game to improve, not regress right?
You asked me about a perfect football game, and I gave you an answer. My biggest disappointment comes from the fact that GOALS is looking like EAFC with each new patch, so no, I am not testing to play GOALS like that garbage game, but the opposite.
I still play GOALS and don't play Fifa, because at least this one is a responsive game in 2026. I just said FIFA 17 mechanics, especially attacking AI, should be the aim.
As for your tactics and playstyle comments, I don't even want to bother to answer. I see you still play EAFC, so you can't really talk about good gaming mechanics with me. That explains why you completely misunderstood what I wanted to say.
@walliks@andreas@PlayGOALS 41212 and 4312 are broken. 80% of the people I face in elite play it.
I know they had to do something about 10+ goals per match from the beginning, but I think they just needed subtle nerfs to attacking speed boosts and a buff to manual defending.
@Ja2LiL@andreas@PlayGOALS I think people realized that you can use defensive AI to hold your hand now, and they just keep the shape, not trying to defend 1-on-1. Or there might be a tactics exploit. No idea about this one, but I know exactly what you are talking about.
Fifa 17, Fifa 18 mechanics with GOALS responsiveness, modes, progression system.
My main issue is that I like to combine and play with through balls, high-paced counterattacks, or pass around if facing low blocks. I am unable to do any of that atm because there is no attacking AI, pass targeting is broken, lofted through balls are nerfed to the ground, can't score at the near post, can't cross the ball, etc... The game was clearly released too soon (but it made sense because of the World Cup and GTA).
Not true. I was very positive when the game came out, and I preferred the first version, with all its faults, because at least it was fun. Now I am negative every week because the game gets worse with every patch.
Now everyone is abusing broken mechanics, and there is too many of them. And don't get me wrong, every game will have broken mechanics, but the fact that I can't even counter them by using attacking AI is very frustrating.
