Yet it merited no article on the BBC or any major news outlet bar the Guardian.

I cycled past the works for the #A417missinglink at Shab Aerial and there is a vast area of engineering works. Spending £400M on improving a few miles of road to facilitate more driving is backward thinking. There is so much more that could be done with the money!

The European XFEL cost 1.22 billion to build and about 140 million per year to run. It would be great if the UK invested and it could be a wonderful way to #LevelUp and regenerate an area with a new ecosystem, however, I there isn't any substance behind #uksciencesuperpower

The @royalsociety is organising regular townhall meetings to bring the community together around a UK XFEL. Exciting stuff.

When I looked at the numbers, agonising over driving versus inconvenient and or expensive public transport is just insignificant compared to the flight, which was probably worse than the estimate due to a detour round Russia and Ukraine!

First trip out of Europe for over 5 years. Should I sweat the small stuff? Drove to airport ~25kg of CO2 one-way. Round trip flight ~3.2 t. Estimated domestic travel in Japan, 4.65 kg by Shinkansen, 154 kg internal flight, plus ~20 kg of other journeys.

I guess ultimately there needs to be an attention grabbing headline and the article did present a number of views, so, not a non story after all?
I guess also that there should be some clear reason why content isn't on national TV, be it commercial or other @guardianeco

I'm disappointed by this non-story from the Gaurdian. Focusing on the director of Silverback Films comments, the 6th episode wasn't part of the commissioned series. If truly the case it should be marketed separately. Messy!
