A whole sack of buns every morning? At that age, no boy has enough strategic vision to eat that many. Those buns became a currency. You could buy loyalty, settle disputes, start a black market, probably even influence student elections.
Forget "breadwinners". Those prefects were literally bread distributors.
And somewhere, a teacher thought, "This will teach leadership." It taught supply chain management.
Comrades, if you have a job, protect it at all costs. Life hits hard when you wake up with nowhere to go and nothing to hustle. And by the way, people, especially those you call friends, easily forget about your existence the moment they learn that you aren't working anymore.
