AGAINST ALL ODDS

They came for his character.
They came for his name, his image, his family, everything that could be used to weaken the man.

They seized the local government secretariats, even after their so-called tenure had ended, hiding behind the strength of federal power.

They withheld local government funds, hoping financial pressure would make him bow.
He did not.

He stood firm and continued to pay local government workers.

They challenged his authority at every turn. They defied his directives, mocked the symbols of the state, refused to use the state crest, held the state flag where they should not, violated park rules, and turned every little disagreement into a battle of supremacy.

They attacked his projects.

Then came the Master Strategic Plan, a calculated effort that deepened the crisis within the PDP. Eventually, he left for another party, ACCORD, a party many considered too unpopular to carry a serious political battle. History, however, has shown that big politicians have contested elections under unpopular platforms and still failed.

They took two senators away from him.
They took three members of the House of Representatives.
Still, he did not bow.

They spent money.
He stood.

They took over the NURTW and harassed people, yet he continued to encourage the people to remain courageous.

They tore down his posters and banners.
But when the people choose a man, tearing down his posters cannot tear him away from their hearts.

Some of his supporters were killed.

People were threatened and intimidated not to vote for him. Yet the people remembered that the voice of the people is the voice of God.

They turned the police against him.

They tried to reshape the people's perception of him.

They froze the state government's account.

They turned a former governor against him.

They brought governors from different states, senators, members of the House of Representatives, political heavyweights and influential stakeholders into the campaign, all in an attempt to overwhelm the people, suppress their courage and make them believe that resistance was impossible.

No wonder he called himself a Bulldozer.

Because a bulldozer does not ask the road to move.
It moves the road.

Then, in the final stretch, he stopped his mega rally, the rally many believed would have provided the final burst of energy and morale ahead of the election.

And then came the verdict.

He won.

He won his second re-election against all odds.

Not because the road was easy.
Not because the forces against him were small.
Not because he had every politician on his side.

He won because, through all the pressure, the people who believed in him remained standing.

And perhaps that is why Governor Ademola Adeleke is so easy to defend: his works speak.

When the noise becomes too loud, the roads speak.
When the propaganda becomes too heavy, the projects speak.
When the attacks become personal, the people remember what governance has delivered.

He was tested by pressure.
He was tested by power.
He was tested by betrayal.
He was tested by intimidation.
And still, he stood.

Against all odds.

Governor Ademola Adeleke is a man chosen by God, and the people of Osun have once again made their choice.

People of Osun, Thank you for standing behind the man who stood when standing was difficult.

Thank you for refusing to surrender your voice.

History has been written, and that is a good sign for our democracy.

Against all odds, Imole prevailed.
