Everest Today strongly condemns and categorically rejects the Annapurna RMP's proposal to rename Annapurna I (8,091 m) as “Nimsdai Annapurna.” This is an unnecessary and unacceptable attempt to alter the historic, cultural and geographical identity of one of Nepal’s greatest mountains.

Honour Nims with statues, memorials, and preserve his achievements for future generations, but do not rewrite the identity and history of Annapurna. Annapurna must remain Annapurna.
