I’m honestly exhausted watching what Iran has been reduced to.
Not because of its people, Iranians are some of the most educated, creative, and resilient people in the world, but because of a system that has held an entire nation hostage for decades.
Before 1979, Iran was moving forward.
It wasn’t perfect, but it was modernizing, globally connected, and culturally alive. Women had visibility, universities thrived, and Iran was positioning itself as a regional leader rather than an international pariah.
Then ideology replaced governance.
The Islamic Republic didn’t just change laws, it rewrote daily life.
A rigid theocratic system took precedence over freedom, innovation, and human dignity. Politics became inseparable from religious enforcement, dissent became a crime, and generations were raised under fear instead of opportunity.
Today, the cost is obvious:
• economic isolation
• brain drain
• suppressed voices
