Imagine if #bbc managed to put a whole #wimbledon match on without multiple channel changes…..Could put @BBCNews at 1pm on bcc 2 to avoid the daily / yearly change #toosimple
I was recently in Dubai & it shows what a scam the U.K. tax system has become Dubai: 5% VAT, 9% corporation tax, NO income tax U.K: 20% VAT, 25% corporation tax, 40%+ income tax, 15% N.I Dubai: Booming economy, clean, safe, thriving U.K. Failing economy, record crime levels, broken public services
In the U.K. tax is the penalty you pay for being productive In Dubai you are REWARDED & encouraged to be productive
Why?
Earn it? Taxed.
Spend it? Taxed.
Save it? Taxed.
Invest it? Taxed.
Build it? Taxed.
Sell it? Taxed.
Live in it? Taxed.
Drive it? Taxed.
Eat it? Taxed.
Drink it? Taxed.
Smoke it? Taxed.
Give it away? Taxed.
Die? Still taxed.
And what do they do with it? Waste it.
This has to stop - our money & our future are being taxed into oblivion.

I was another conference this week about increasing participation in #sport.
I listened to a lot of theories, saw Academics present research about what their data says, watched the ubiquitous "this is what they do in Scandinavia and we should all do the same" presentation. Some of it was good. Some awful.
But they all missed the simple point. Some of the solutions were just way too complicated. People are over-thinking this whole #sportsparticipation thing.
It's simple. Here it is again.
The primary responsibility of everyone involved in sport is to create the environment which provides the opportunity for kids to fall in love with sport.
Why?
Because - IF YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO - YOU WILL DO WHAT YOU LOVE.
If the kids love being active, if they love playing the game, if they love their #coach, if they love playing with their friends, if they love learning - they keep coming.
The only child who can not improve - is the one who is not there.
I don't know how many conferences, social media posts and articles I've got to do before we stop looking at this as an Academic research project or Government program.
Just make it fun - help them to learn - make it safe - and everything else will fall into place.
If education is really “all about the kids” then why do we:
*limit physical activity, play time, the arts, socialization
*focus on standardized tests as success
* give students little voice/input into learning
* focuses on their weaknesses not strengths
