Again, don’t listen to silliness like this.
Kamala had a vision. Trump had vibes and racism.
This isn’t about who had a better platform.
This was a doubling down on America’s original premise — white supremacy.
In the coming days there's gonna be a lot of opining about what the Harris campaign did wrong, but this election was not an indictment of Kamala Harris. It was an indictment of America.
Black people are relatively well prepared for what’s about to happen because it’s happened to us before. America has done this to us before. It’s just about to widen the aperture to a bunch of people who ain’t used to it.
Black women.
Black men.
We did the right thing. We have always been on the right side.
The problem has never been us.
The next four years instead of the internet wars, the think pieces on relationships, we need to focus on protecting our communities.
There are a lot of lessons to learn:
- you have to win to wield power
- you can’t “teach your side a lesson” by helping them lose
- other minority groups want to be white & will vote alongside white interests even when it hurts them
- black people consistently vote pragmatically
It’s also time to retire “all politics is local” and “the president doesn’t impact my life” because they’re catchy but untrue statements. When the federal government works well, you don’t even realize it in your life.
People are about to see tho.
White people, en masse, will do anything to protect whiteness.
Men, en masse, will do anything to protect patriarchy.
Non Black people of color, en masse, will do anything to align themselves with whiteness.
