@VeVeRae14@chriscantino@veve_official@disneyplus I think it can be viable, but companies considering this model need to exercise caution when projecting their revenues from the secondary market if there are no subscription renewals. I learned in this thread, however, that renewals can be programmed, so that’s promising.
@VeVeRae14@chriscantino@veve_official@disneyplus I’m new to Twitter, so your comment looked like it was in response to another comment about sustainability. I think VeVe is a cool example. Re: the other comment, my point was companies looking at NFT-only subscriptions have a tricky financial sustainability model to figure out.
@VeVeRae14@chriscantino@veve_official@disneyplus The difference here is Disney has an existing web 2 revenue model for Disney Plus, therefore their business sustainability isn’t reliant on an NFT subscription model.
@kazsatamai@chriscantino Secondary market royalties, however, if the utilities tied to the NFT subscription are so valuable, it’s fair to assume there would be less trading than with a collectible NFT.
@chriscantino The success or failure of a NFT offering will soon be contingent on the creator’s ability to TRULY reimagine value AND foster an innovative way for it to be extracted. Value doesn’t solely exist at the core of an exchange. It exists in tandem with meaning and interpretation. #nft
