FDLE continues to hold criminals accountable who are victimizing our children, getting involved in illegal drugs, and contributing to crimes in our community.
As part of a thorough FDLE investigation, Hershel Cranford is facing a slew of charges ranging from possession of child sexual abuse materials, illegal drug possession and dealing in stolen property.

These offenders didn’t think we’d catch on. Let’s just say we weren’t fans of what they tried to get away with.
FDLE, the @WakullaSheriff, and the Homeland Security Investigations coordinated Operation Not a Fan after discovering multiple sex offenders and predators using unreported OnlyFans accounts, a violation of Florida’s registration laws.
The operation led to 10 arrests for non-compliance. Enforcing Florida’s registration laws helps ensure Floridians know who’s living in their neighborhoods.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement expresses its deepest condolences to the @CityofEdgewater law enforcement community and loved ones of Officer David Jewell who was killed yesterday afternoon.
“Our hearts go out to the family, friends and Edgewater Police Department after the tragic death of Officer David Jewell. We pray for his loved ones and for swift justice to be brought to the shooter responsible.” - FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass
Law Enforcement officers at any and every level face danger every day, on or off duty. We stand with our brothers and sisters as we mourn the loss of Officer Jewell.
It is with a heavy heart we post. K9 Benny 🐾 EOW: 07/24/2025.
K9 Benny became an FDLE Capitol Police K9 in November of 2012. He served as an Explosive Ordinance Detection (EOD) K9, serving with endless courage and dedication.
K9 Benny retired after nearly 10 years of service due to osteoarthritis in his joints after years of working. Upon his retirement, K9 Benny was adopted by his handler, Capitol Police Sergeant Russ Clark, and his family.
While K9 Benny was been enjoying his retirement, he suffered an unforeseen life-threatening medical complication requiring emergency surgery. K9 Benny became very ill and vets discovered a tumor on his spleen.
Thankfully, the surgery saved his life and he was able to celebrate his 13th birthday on November 28th, 2024. Unfortunately, the cancer had not gone away and K9 Benny was laid to rest on July 24, 2025, at North Florida Animal Hospital.
Rest in peace, K9 Benny.
From bail to jail.
The very same day #YourFDLE received our official 287(g) credentials, we put these two scheming bail bondsmen behind bars. One of them was a Venezuelan national!
They tried to defraud their victims by threatening to revoke their bail bonds if more money wasn't provided. That's extortion.
Alongside @FLDFS, the @ATFMiami Task Force, @MiamiDade_SO and @HomesteadPD, we reminded them that their schemes won’t work in the Free State of Florida.
Over 100 illegal aliens at a Florida job site—some previously deported, some with rap sheets. All of them thought no one would notice.
Florida noticed.
#YourFDLE was happy to assist @HSITampa, @FLHSMV and all our partners for this major operation.
Today, I joined our federal partners to highlight a first-of-its-kind immigration enforcement effort called "Operation Tidal Wave."
This is the largest operation of its kind in the nation, and we did it here in Florida because I insisted state and local law enforcement agencies provide cooperation and support for immigration enforcement efforts. In just one week, Florida's state agencies helped federal authorities to arrest 1,100+ illegal aliens across the state.
Tonight, FDEM successfully rescued nine more Floridians from Haiti through a state-coordinated emergency flight.
Through @GovRonDeSantis’ leadership, FDEM will continue to ensure that residents are getting home safely to their families.
This is why emergency managers do what we do. Thank you to our state and local partners for this vital collaborative effort to bring Floridians home safely. With @GovRonDeSantis leading the way, @FLSERT will dedicate every resource available until the mission is complete.
Thanks to the leadership of @GovRonDeSantis, the first 14 Floridians have safely returned to their families tonight from Haiti. The state will continue to do whatever it takes to get our citizens home.

BREAKING: DeSantis administration announces portal to help Floridians who are in Haiti as the country faces chaos and violence
FDEM Director @KevinGuthrieFL: “We will do everything possible to help Floridians and Americans who are in need of help in Haiti."
For quite some time, the State of Florida has been dedicating significant resources to combat illegal vessels coming to Florida from countries such as Haiti. Given the circumstances in Haiti, I have directed the Division of Emergency Management, the Florida State Guard, and state law enforcement agencies to deploy over 250 additional officers and soldiers and over a dozen air and sea craft to the southern coast of Florida to protect our state. No state has done more to supplement the (under-resourced) U.S. Coast Guard’s interdiction efforts; we cannot have illegal aliens coming to Florida.
“The best time to prepare was yesterday, but the second best time is now. Use these next 100 days to stock your disaster supply kits and make sure you and your loved ones are ready for the season to come.”
Our administration will always stand with Floridians during difficult times, and we will prioritize the availability of state resources in the aftermath of emergencies.
Thank you,@FLSenate, for your recognition of our dedicated emergency management community as we celebrate our 4th Annual Emergency Management Day at the Capitol.
