Notre Dame researchers found PFAS in 15 of 22 smartwatch bands tested—including brands like Apple, Fitbit, Google, and Nike.

Some bands had PFAS levels comparable to firefighting gear.

PFAS, linked to cancer and liver disease, can be absorbed through skin—especially when sweating.

One compound, PFHxA, appeared in 40% of the bands tested.

Some of the PFAS-laden bands cost $50 MORE.
