@sagehyden For the pulpy- swashbuckling tone Pirates were going for, he’s kind of the culmination of it. His character design is ridiculous yet threatening (think of the scene with Calypso where he gets his crab claw caught in the bars!) while Nighy’s performance grounds him in reality.
