I love that the Backrooms movie has something to say. That’s honestly my biggest takeaway. It could’ve easily been a vacuous jump-scare movie that just fulfils its function, but the fact it leaves you with something to think about can’t be understated. It’s a little miracle.
formal apology to my parents for my behavior during the 2008 recession. if someone asked me to buy them a nintendo ds and an annual roblox membership rn i'd actually blow up
nikki reading her book at the party is one of my absolute favorite scenes in obsession. inde’s entire performance is so incredible and uncanny. her facial expressions and her voice acting are TOP TIER
saw a couple laughing on their balcony. every time the laughter died down one of them would say smthng else & they'd start all over again. made me realise what i've been looking for all along is probably much simpler than i thought
btw in your 20's and 30’s you’ll start rediscovering the niche interests and hobbies you had as a kid. it’s very important you revisit them. your younger self was actually on to something.
The older you get the more you'll realize that everything really is that deep. The people you confide in, trust, date, become friends with, the opportunities you take. What you watch & listen to. What you eat. & even what you consume mentally, emotionally, & spiritually. It's very deep and shouldn't be taken lightly. This is your only life. enjoy it. But, be more intentional about it each & everyday.
As someone who had a bar-heavy 20's, if this has happened you you it's because your vibe is bad and you can't read the room. Not because women want to cockblock their friends.
this is EXACTLY why i tell people that if you want to meet your bf/gf, go do things alone!!
being with friends creates a social shield. being alone creates an opening and makes you WAY more approachable (and likely TO approach too).
being alone in public is so rare, that simply existing on a park bench by yourself opens a lot more doors than you’d think.
