New Order x Boston: The city was one of New Order’s earliest American gigs on September 30, 1980. Only a few months after the death of Ian Curtis, they performed as New Order at The Underground, playing seven songs including ‘Cries and Whispers’ with Stephen on vocals. The band last played in Boston in 2022 during The Unity Tour, opening with the track ‘Regret’.
"I Feel Love" is from the album I Remember Yesterday (1977), a concept album that traveled for different decades, and I Feel Love was the track that represented the future. Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte created the entire base with a Moog synthesizer.
The track changed the history of music: Brian Eno listened and rushed to tell David Bowie "this is the future of music". It reached #1 on the UK Singles Chart for 4 weeks and #6 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
"See You" was the first single from Depeche Mode without Vince Clarke, the founder and main songwriter who had just left to form Yazoo. Martin Gore wrote the song when he was only 16 (and kept the demo for years). Against all expectations, the track became the band's biggest hit to date, peaking at #6 in the UK and beating out Vince's previous singles. They even turned down the offer of "Only You" (which Vince gave to Yazoo and became a hit) to release this track.
The KLF - What Time Is Love? (Live at Trancentral) (1990)
Classic! Following the original trance mix in 1988, the "Live at Trancentral" remix reworks it into pop-house, adding vocal samples & a new bassline. And it's a banger & my fav of the many remixes. Went top 5 in the UK.
