Fave fictional forest is very difficult. Le Guin’s from The Word for World is Forest, Brian Aldiss’ in Hothouse, Sue Burke’s in Semiosis are all candidates. I will go for Hothouse for sheer weirdness-of-forest, even though the plot gets a bit... sixties. @Jenni_Hill
The tens of thousands of Hong Kongers in the exodus from Victoria Harbour to the Thames celebrate their first Lunar New Year in their new home today with mixed feelings.

@herdyshepherd1@guardian It's a 'question from a reader' article. A stretch to imagine as evidence of the Guardian being paid off. Why not write in to answer the question?

Again, it's not that I'm surprised, just that I can't continue to support if this is all it will be for. If it goes ahead, supporting a 'Super League' club will be akin to supporting Warner Bros or Disney - they're just an entertainment creation company, so why would you care?
Shameful from the owners of @Arsenal and the rest. For the first time in my life I am considering whether I want to support this club. So much joy and heartache, all made to look a bit cheap and meaningless. 'Victory through unity' indeed
But at least before there was the semblance of a fair competition. 'Doing a Leicester' was genuinely possible. Now it's laid bare: it's not about the football or the fans, all that matters is profit maximization.
