@The_Grey_Writer I suffered a slipped disc and while not the same injury, the only thing that helped it was exercise. Try and walk about 3km every day. That solved it for me. It killed at first but worked when I kept at it.
At the risk of sounding clichéd, walking through nature (trying to get 10k steps each night) seems to have reinvigorated the writing juices. I started a new project a few nights ago that now stands at 2300 words. Got a good feeling about this one.
No writing today sadly. Somehow wrecked my neck (slouching all day at work most likely) and hunching over a laptop for another hour is probably a bad idea.
Met my 1000 word target again tonight. Making for 54k in total. Very pleased with myself. The New Years resolution is going well. How did you all get on with your writing today?
1k this evening for a total of 53k. Slowly rising. Tonights words felt good, thanks to all your kind words, especially @MossEmmet’s words of wisdom! Things are going from bad to worse for my characters and I can’t wait to write tomorrow’s scene where I pile on the misery 🤭
Tonight’s session resulted in 1.3k words and has taken the WIP to 51k in total. Pleased with that, despite getting the ‘every word I am writing is garbage’ feeling. Time for a bit of a chill out now before the first working day of the year for me. #amwriting
1300 words earlier. Diving in to grab another 700 out of the day, then a little jaunt on the Xbox before bed. New Years resolution to write 2K words before I can allow myself to play video games going well so far.
@SFFAuthor It’s such a subjective thing as well. A 300 page crime thriller with wide margins and double spaced lines is not the same as a 1000 page fantasy with tiny text. Both are valid books, but I guess if you’re into SciFi/Fantasy then something more like 15 books is a job well done 👍
