@chigrl 2 excellent choices.
AC/DC has several.
even though it takes a few seconds to get to the riff, Boston's Foreplay and Dire Straits' Money for Nothing would be up there for me.
@ContentWxGuy Always helpful. Thanks.
Amazing that the Thur cooldown will only drop western PA dewpoints into the lower 60s. Some variation away from the heat/humidity will be appreciated.
@JedKolko Insightful. Unemployment is just one lens. If total jobs or employment decline while unemployment stays flat, that signals deeper issues. Policymakers should track employment-population ratios to better anticipate tax revenue and long-term budget impacts.
@ContentWxGuy I have no idea how you do that, but love it when you do. 1 & 2 make perfect sense. I can 'see' it. No idea how you can see 3 & 4, but... thank you. very helpful.
@Prune602 That seems like a risky & convoluted way to get to India. I'm probably oversimplifying but the most efficient routes have been cutoff (Black Sea/Suez), leaving only west (atlantic & around africa) or Sovetskaya Gavan (Sea of Japan). Can they not send it east? Less laborious.
Ok so this is actually a big deal - the NRC authorized @NuScale_Powerโs small modular reactor design.
Total whitepill.
Now we just need to start building them!

@maphumanintent Have you posted anything on a solution to the railroad industry problems? A shipper & I were discussing ways to improve the situation (railroad service), & short of running railroads like a utility the monopolistic nature of rail industry provides few competitive alternatives.
@chigrl Some ships avoid the canal because of the fees. With significantly higher fuel prices the premium isn't as great, so more ship utilize the canal. Also, all carriers are facing greater pressures to reduce transit times and the Suez is an enormous time saver.
Things that can all be true:
1) The COVID stimulus was too big & caused demand side inflation.
2) It was the right response at the time (given how dire things look in Mar 2020).
3) 2021 stimulus was a mistake.
4) Future inflation will be significantly impacted by Russia.
@PENGSNOW1@mfdwx He was the best intermediate range forecaster I've ever seen. He could spot a pattern change 3-4 weeks away better than anyone. I would pay him (monthly) to come back. No doubt
