@JumperTeaches @stanfordedtech Using games to review provides a fun and engaging activity that helps students prepare for a test. Thank you for mentioning @stanforedtech. I checked them out and I'm following them now. They look like a great resource. Thank you for sharing!! #wuedt6020
@AlbrightJena SMART Boards are so useful! I do not have access to them at my current school but I wish I did. You can do so much with them and they help to keep students engaged. My students enjoy using Kahoot to add some competition into the class. Thank you so much for sharing! #wuedt6020
@teacherliz3rd Finding a clever way to integrate games is key. I found this website for game based elementary math skills. https://t.co/cIPCWo5Imk It looked good to me! It breaks it down by grade level and the by topic. Thanks for responding! #wuedt6020
@MrLogan421 Students could research a subject and then create their own podcast instead of writing a paper. They could produce it individually or collaborate with others. The podcast format might be more engaging than writing a paper. Audacity is an easy to use app for this. #wuedt6020
@gracekisaacs1 Being clear and consistent is key. I've seen some success by using a visual prompt. A picture is posted with a phone on one side and a phone with a red "X" through it on the other. Students know when they are allowed to use phones based on which side is forward. #wuedt6020
@SandyC4WU I like to ask my colleagues for suggestions and keep a dialogue going about which ones worked or didn't work. The app must be engaging and I love when there is a creative element. I think that helps retain focus. If it is not user friendly then it's a deal breaker. #wuedt6020
@PWysocki3 I see the potential of using podcasts to help engage students internationally. Podcasts allow you to seek out a topic and learn about it. Plus, your students can share their knowledge and receive feedback from people all over the world. Great idea! #wuedt6020
@gracekisaacs1 Thank you for sharing! Epals sounds like a great resource to help students gain a new perspective from a different culture. This is so important and can be enlightening. I definitely see the benefits of epals. I can't wait to check it out. #wuedt6020
WK4: VR is a fantastic way for teachers to inspire their students to create global connections. VR can help learners discover various cultures and create new and powerful connections. VR fosters understanding and allows students across the globe to work together. #wuedt6020
@MrsSeibert94 I love Google Classroom! I have found that it helps make the whole classroom much more efficient. Cutting down on paper use is another advantage and I appreciate that you can track everything in real time. Great ideas and good luck!!
@AndreaEnnis8 When you have a big class it is so helpful to take advantage of the blended learning resources. Allowing students to self-pace can help keep more advanced students engaged and allow you the time to assist other students who might need it. Great ideas!!
Wk3 Response: I plan to use more digital learning in my classes to make the learning environment more collaborative. Utilizing resources like Schoology would be a great benefit. I would also like to implement white board lessons and a flipped classroom. #wuedt6020
