@enosarris FIP WAR is incomplete for relievers, but it has to be better than WAR that ignores Ks, BBs and HRs

[james farris @jamespfarris]

@SorenPetro @jazayerli 1. Steinbrenner wasn’t self made, he inherited the ship building.
2. What they are wasting by not maximizing their roster are the resources of Witt elite seasons, the near end of Perez as an asset, and 2 older SP who probably will never be as good as they are now.

@notgaetti Much better. Defense still matters. “Whispers” he’s also a much more productive hitter than both, and has the same number of championships as Willie Mays, Ty Cobb and Ken Griffey Jr combined

[james farris @jamespfarris]

@GreggOlson30 Show me the year there was a 8MPH jump?

[james farris @jamespfarris]

@notgaetti You do understand that preventing runs is half the game? I know you do, but I think you forget sometimes.

[james farris @jamespfarris]

Baseball reality is much different for those who don’t consider making outs as important. @notgaetti get your head out of a spreadsheet and watch a game.

[Not Gaetti @notgaetti]

Trout most HR: 45
Griffey 5th-most HR: also 45

Trout most RBI: 111
Griffey 5th-most RBI: 118

Trout highest BA: .326
Griffey highest BA: .327

Trout most 2B: 39
Griffey most 2B: 42

"The numbers speak for themselves"

Then you add in the iconic HR robberies and the sweet swing

[james farris @jamespfarris]

@notgaetti He’s not close, man. This isn’t a squint HOFer, he was never an elite player

[james farris @jamespfarris]

@RamsSteve @DonMarchJr @fvckinashman @mike5steel @notgaetti He played SEC football in the 80s

@3xCrownSports @notgaetti @baseball_ref @Stathead @dwightjaynes @DodgersNation @Braves @SFGiants @ColeWright @JPBeastMode @STLWizard @TimRaines30 Brock got 1400 TBs and 350 SBs as a not very good player. Over the course of his career, we added 60 OF jobs, and he was still below average for nearly a decade.

[james farris @jamespfarris]

@notgaetti I played against him in HS, he went to the same HS my Dad did. We didn’t believe his age in 1996.

[james farris @jamespfarris]

@notgaetti Jeter is both. So overrated by certain fans that the reactionary contrarians have gone way too far in the opposite direction.
