I’m sure you agree that “right now” is meaningless. 2025 renewables generated 52.5% of UK electricity – the second consecutive year they supplied more than half of all electricity.
The remainder was approximately:
Fossil fuels: ~29–30% (mostly natural gas)
Nuclear: ~14–15%
Imports and other sources: the balance.
Within that 52.5% renewable share, the largest contributors were roughly:
🌬️ Wind: ~29.5% of all UK electricity
☀️ Solar: ~6.9%
💧 Hydro: ~1–2%
🌱 Biomass and other renewables: ~14–15% combined.
It’s also worth distinguishing two related measures:
Renewables only: 52.5% of electricity generation.
Low-carbon electricity (renewables plus nuclear): about 73% of Great Britain’s electricity generation in 2025.
So non-carbon 73%!
We are supposedly at war to stop Iran from enriching the uranium we “obliterated” over a year ago.
Yesterday we signed a deal to help Saudi Arabia enrich uranium.
The first time the United States has ever helped another country enrich uranium on foreign soil.
The Saudis refused the inspection protocol 140 other countries accept. Too intrusive, they said.
Trump agreed. He signed a national security waiver to get around the rule.
The Saudis paid Kushner $100 million. They put $2 billion into his firm. They put another $6 billion into LIV Golf, which pays Trump properties to host its tournaments. They signed ten billion dollars in Trump-branded real estate deals in Jeddah and Riyadh. All in just the last few years.
But sure. My paintings.
Very moving to see The Grenadier Guards take part in the 14th July parade down the Champs-Elysées, together with many other European Nations in a show of joint strength
Zelensky also visibly moved as the Ukrainian soldiers march past

When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain.
A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.”
That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love.
I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.
People versus the establishment?
Are you kidding?
Nigel Farage is the son of a stockbroker who went to Dulwich College and then follows his dad into the city, gets gifted millions, promotes crypto and gold bullion, been in politics for decades - he IS the establishment
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I know @realDonaldTrump and family did.
250 years ago we declared independence from a king who ran the colonies as a family business. In just 18 months the Trumps have made King George look like an amateur.
A $620 million Pentagon loan, the largest in the program’s history, to a company Don Jr.’s firm bought into three months before.
An Air Force drone contract to a startup the princelings took public through a golf course company they own a piece of.
The Army’s largest drone motor order ever, to a company where Don Jr. sits on the board and holds millions in stock.
A $24 million Pentagon robotics contract to the company that employs Eric as Chief Strategy Advisor.
A stake in the largest undeveloped tungsten deposit on earth, in Kazakhstan, backed by $1.6 billion in US government support.
Jared’s fund seeded with $2 billion from the Saudi crown prince, now $6.2 billion, 99% of it foreign money from Gulf governments. Over $110 million in fees collected from the Saudis alone. He negotiates American foreign policy with the governments that pay him.
$2.3 billion from crypto ventures their father regulates. More than a million people bought in and lost $2.3 billion. The money didn’t grow. It simply moved from the subjects pockets to the crown’s coffers.
And the next one is already drafted. A proposed ATF rule that will allow guns to be shipped straight to your front door. The government’s own estimate is 3.3 million home gun deliveries a year. Don Jr. sits on the board of the online gun megastore built to cash in. He holds 300,000 shares.
And that’s only the fraction they’ve allowed us to see. Not one subpoena served. Not one search executed. Why hide anything when you own the investigators?
Me? They searched a laptop for six years. Federal prosecutors. Grand juries. Subpoena power. Congressional hearings. They found nothing. I made about $200k a year selling paintings when my Dad was President, and they made my paintings part of an impeachment inquiry.
For six years they’ve asked Where’s Hunter? What about the laptop?
Wrong questions. The right one is 250 years old. Does America belong to a family?
They’ve given their answer. Long live the King.
Andrew. What I find staggering to understand in the comments and in your historical commentary, is the opposition to EV’s and the transition to net zero - this was the UKs opportunity- as an example, I bought LEAF and AESC to UK in 2011. China first set out its industrial strategy to dominate in NEV In 1992 - they told us they would leap-frog the west 25years ago. Yet the EU, UK and various commentators failed to invest in the emerging technology, failed to get behind the inevitable change and now bemoan the decline of our manufacturing industry. The car industry survives on its ability to manifest changes in line with changing customer requirements- we have failed to invest in batteries, in EV, in software stacks and autonomous technology. We failed to embrace an industrial strategy for our country and now we’re, unsurprisingly on the back foot.
“What’re you in for mate?”
“Cleaning a river without a permit. What about you?”
@EnvAgency is really plumbing new depths of malevolent uselessness here.
Farage spent years on the RT payroll. Met privately with the Russian ambassador. Said Putin was the world leader he most admired. Defended the annexation of Crimea.
The man about to inherit your country has spent 20 years on the wrong side of the war for Europe's future.
7/12
The left wing hysteria on this is ridiculous. A 10 year shift at one of the most successful UK VC firms as a partner *absolutely* qualifies someone for this role.
Shhh … Labour is setting up a £500 million taxpayer-funded “Sovereign AI Unit” to invest in artificial intelligence companies.
The reported choice to run it?
Tony Blair’s daughter-in-law. Its almost funny. Only almost💣
The data is in. Between 2023-2025, wind and solar slashed EU wholesale power prices by 24.2% on average. In Spain, the cut was nearly 40%
This isn't a forecast, it already happened
Renewables are the only cure for gas price insanity
