@JonathanBrash You must do better as an MP and give accuracy. The court outcome declared this isn’t a tax break, and it would determinately disadvantage kids.
You are confusing figures & £1.5bn (which won’t happen) was the policy, not £4.5. And starmer just announced it’s going to housing.
@TimothyJonas@anaboultertv@Keir_Starmer For transparency IF labour were successful on their mandate to raise £1.6bn, that would add 1-2% to the education budget.
IF this was about raising standards don’t we think a better idea would be to raise income tax by 5p for ALL higher rate earners, generating £10bn?
@JH81497 @kathy279@LBC Luxury? Just one stat, 100,000 children with special educational needs unable to be catered for by the state go to independent schools.
@kathy279@LBC Like many many parents, I helped fund that, and don’t regret a penny. The government has also spent £500k-£1m on legal fees from public money defending it…with private educated barristers. Congratulations 🙌 on celebrating one of few Western democracies to add VAT to education.
@iffygoescomando@KirstieMAllsopp Except results were excellent… A worldwide education study published today (5 December 2023) shows England has significantly outperformed the international average and risen from 17th for maths in 2018 to 11th, and from 27th in 2009. https://t.co/2z4bfWKShx
@teamsquarepeg@KirstieMAllsopp Actually they did. ‘A worldwide education study published today (5 December 2023) shows England has significantly outperformed the international average and risen from 17th for maths in 2018 to 11th, and from 27th in 2009.’ https://t.co/2z4bfWKShx
@8Mukiwa@Conservatives Actually the last government improved the school grades on an international level ‘A worldwide education study published 5/12/23 shows England has significantly outperformed the international average and risen from 17th for maths in 2018 to 11th, and from 27th in 2009.’
@MARK_H_DAVEY@RobertJenrick When do you stop blaming the previous government? This one have been in power for 253 days, it was literally growing when they left, you can’t pin that on anyone other than the current tenants of no. 10. 🙄
@8Mukiwa@KemiBadenoch@Conservatives Master deflector at work here straight out the mouth of starmer. You’ve done the ‘your shoes laces are untied’ gag to try and avoid the fact and truth from Kemi. Didn’t quite work though.
@SamJRushworth@kevinhollinrake No ifs no buts Sam! Yet another lie. This government have gone back on so many promises. The voters won’t forget! Farmers, pensioners, people who pay council tax, the £300 we’ve been promised on energy, No tax rises, but driven through employer NI. Education tax. What a disaster
