@TheBishF1@Brands_Hatch Lovely to read this Matt. I was in the crowd on that day leaning over the somewhat flimsy spectator fencing at the exit from Druids.
@RDPHistory I think if you can spare the time to make YT content on your subject it would be well received especially if you were able to cover various different aspects. The political and background side of your X posts are always intriguing & informative. I would certainly subscribe.
@BritishArmyWDs Interesting photo. I've read in detail WD of 139LAA Reg - it mirrors that of 120LAA for that part of June 44 (including poor weather) but has quite a bit more detail. 139's Bofors and crews were on Landing Barges (Flak) - converted Thames barges.
@seatsixtyone Do you have any thoughts on how this might affect the already cramped, overcrowded departure areas? My recent experience of this issue was at St Pancras & Rotterdam Centraal.
@wtbattlefields Fun fact Phil - in 1961 I was one of 1000 school kids who disembarked at Folkestone Harbour Station for the ferry to Boulogne. A day trip by my school via steam hauled charter train - headmaster was very pro-Europe having fought through Normandy into Germany. No Greek eatery tho!
@PDC_Services@BritishArmyWDs I was pleased with myself for walking down the Cavendish Rd in 2019 so very impressed that you walked up! A tough route. Fascinating area to explore.
@wtbattlefields Hi Phil. Today walking part of N SeaCoastTrail (nr TheHague) came across part of you know who’s Atlantic Wall. Now under sand & vegetation but still distinctive tho fenced off. #WW2#AtlanticWall#Scheveningen#DenHaag
@ypreswoman I have a distant & obscure railway connection with Solférino. Working in Paris, each work day I took the Metro from Solferino station. OK, OK - Solferino Farm is in Belgium, Solferino station in Paris & marks an 1859 France v Austria battle in Italy. I did say it was obscure!
@ypreswoman My favourite at Albert station is the Poilu statue seemingly ‘keeping watch’ over things. The tiled panels are also an attractive and informative feature. Thanks for the reminder through your photos Sandra.
