hope the support will be available for ALL.

Have seen instances before where certain agencies refuse to work with individuals as they are the accused and the victim. They choose to work with the victim only as that’s what their funding stipulates.

Investment within this area is key and the new bill will be great to focus in on trauma and the appropriate changes required for 2024 justice.

What is disappointing is I’ve yet to see any wording within any ScotGov’s publications that recognises that….

Today marks the start of #VictimsAwarenessWeek.

@scotgov is putting victims at the heart of the justice system by:

🔵 providing £48 million so victims get the support they need
🔵 ensuring justice services reduce trauma and are person-centred

the terms victim, survivor, complainer, offender and accused are all interchangeable.

Maybe just me but it seems a very basic way of looking at the justice system. Most people I work alongside today have been all of the above terms….

Sometimes as a Social Worker you forget how fortunate you are to share the highs and lows of life with the people you work with and take it for granted. Being present and taking time to reflect on this can be really poignant 🫶🏻
