Itβs our final home game of the regular season this Saturday as we host Lincolnshire side, Louth Town.
As well as the obvious thing (the football), we have a whole host of things going on.
Firstly, we have some very special guests. The Mayor of Wakefield, Darren Byford is joining us. Someone who has kept a close eye on the club over the past few seasons, itβs fantastic that we have him down to witness the final home game of the season.
Jade Botterill MP is also in the house.
Jade does a fantastic job as the Labour representative for Ossett & Denby Dale and itβs great to have her support the club too.
Hopefully joining Jade are Deb Nicholls and Gwen Page, both of whom have worked alongside the Mayor in recent years as the Labour representatives for the town. It would be great if you could attend.
NCEL League General Manager Matt Jones will be joining us too. Great to have you back down Matt.
Our U9βs age group are going to be walking out onto the pitch with the lads. Thanks to Coops and his team for doing this, we really appreciate the support. Itβs great to have the young generation of the club involved on match days.
Thanks to Grassrootz Games who will be providing fantastic footage of the game from a different angle and Harry Render Media who will be capturing the best action shots throughout.
With the plan for Saturdayβs game to be packed out with the next generation and showing exactly what weβre all about, the club have organised a bouncy castle hire and ice cream van for the day. We encourage all supporters to the bring their families in what is looking to be a great day for the club, regardless of the result. Donβt forget, for each paying adult, one child gains entry for FREE, something weβve done this season as an incentive.
Any supporter who has been to the ground since the opening day, will have noticed the amazing standing area at the far side of the nearest touchline being built. We are hoping to have the final piece in place to have it unveiled for full use on Saturday too. A fantastic job by volunteer, Phil Taylor to get this one sorted. Thank you.
A bumper raffle will take place with three prizes on offer. A huge thank you to the Mayor for donating a Β£25 Amazon voucher for the lucky winner, with a couple of other prizes on offer too. If anyone wants to add to the prizes, feel free! Β£1 a strip, CASH only. Fill your pockets with those coins and be in it to win it.
Physical match programmes will be back. Gibril Bojang fronting the final issue of the regular season.
The boys are just one hundred and eighty minutes away from achieving something very special. Letβs get behind them, pack the stands and hopefully come 5pm, itβll just be ninety..

Itβs the penultimate away game of the season on Saturday as a trip to playoff hopefuls @ilkleytown awaits Horbury.
Events during the week have slightly changed the league table.. Mathematics of results at the weekend π°πΌππΉπ± see the league trophy make its way back to WF4.
If both Wakefield and Wombwell fall to defeat, a win at Ilkley would crown Horbury champions. If both fail to win, a win at Ilkley may require just one point from the final two, although none would leave it in the hands of the goal difference gods.
Plenty of other mathematical outcomes to guarantee home playoff spot in the final too, should Horbury get there.
The support looks to be very strong from the Horbury faithful and hopefully they can be rewarded with at least 3 points. Those 3 points are going to be very difficult against a side who need the win to secure their playoff spot (subject to other results).
With added motivation of doing it for our all time appearance and goal scoring hero who suffered a horrendous injury last week, positivity is at an all time high within the camp.
Roll on Saturday. π²
More sponsorship boards going up at far lane. A big thank you to the brilliant new and existing businesses who have kindly supported us for the upcoming season @utley_ltd @E3Recruitment.
For the last time this season, it Game day!!
The biggest match for our small community club in a long time.
Good luck to all involved β½οΈβ½οΈβ½οΈπ

It is mathematically possible to see the 2022 World Cup final between Messi and Ronaldo! ππ
Argentina and Portugal would both have to finish first in their group and then win all their knockout matches until the final. π¦π·π΅πΉ
