GP. Villa fan. Father. I favour trust, honesty and accountability. We’re all human. We all make mistakes. We should own them when we do and learn from them.
@Markyb610@karlfrankham1 100%. We have to be looking to clear £100m after middlesborough’s cut, so prob £120m is the starting point of any negotiation.
And chuck in a buyback clause just to piss off Ben Jacobs.
@1874TheLions@vlad_britball Surely United aren’t after Suzuki when they only signed Lammens last summer and he’s done well for them?
If we’re losing Emi he has a starting place with us.
@astonvilla___@TotalVilla_ I’d imagine it’ll be a sweetener for the Van Hecke deal in the other direction.
You’d think Spurs would be agreeing maybe buy JPVH and send Vuskovic to Brighton on loan but not a sale at that price?
@AVFCJono They’re big boots to fill and any new recruit will need time and patience and be allowed to survive a few mistakes early doors without losing our support, that’s for sure.
@rgatward7@russkyd11 It’s only one game so not judging on that alone. There’s a couple of have expected him to catch though. Not too heavy a criticism on one clip though.
@S1ngh32 Agree. He’s given us a great few years and won a trophy with us.
If he wants a new challenge I’d not begrudge him going and would rather he went early in the summer if he is.
At some point we’ll need to replace him so best to do that when we can offer UCL to his replacement.
@FrankieMaguire@avfc_david It’s lazy punditry from Keane.
McGinn looks a little like a pub player - gets stuck in, does the ugly stuff well. He’s also not a typical athlete in terms of build.
But he’s quality with the ball & all the physical stuff masks the ball retention & progression he also does well.
@MTVilla1983@Alex_Berwick@VilladanishDK That was because we didn’t want UEFA telling us Newcastle had overpaid for JJ and us overpaid for Osula.
If both clubs underpay surely UEFA can’t kick up a fuss whilst at the same time telling us to stop spending so much!
@Alex_Berwick@VilladanishDK It wouldn’t help the revenue side but under SCR only 1/3 of the sale cost is accounted for in year so player sales likely less impactful than sponsorship revenue?
Surely UEFA can’t tell us we should be spending MORE on players whilst simultaneously ordering us to cut our cloth?
@Alex_Berwick@VilladanishDK But the “value” in the prior transfers had been inflated for PSR purposes. I’m talking about discounts.
If we were to sign Openda for £10m whilst gifting them Emi for free then Openda’s cost for SCR would be £2m amortised fee plus wages - prob lower than Baileys current cost.
@Markyb610 I mean. 33’s not even old for a keeper either.
It’s like seeing Dembele land the ballon d’or again this season and then hoping to sign him in 2027 for £5-10m.
