@LuxuryTravelGem At least you got to go to sports day Gemma the clowns at our local council denied the opportunity 🤬. I suppose though that the risk of all these parents outside socially distanced is far greater than packed pubs last night with everyone hugging each other 🙄
@BorisJohnson@grantshapps I checked the calendar nope not April 1st👇let’s have a better plan than sorting your friends out first https://t.co/xy4x0mfWaJ
@CheshireEast@BorisJohnson@GavinWilliamson Great that England are through to the quarter finals but does someone want to explain to me why I cannot go to my child’s sports day? The hypocrisy and stupidity of this decision after the scenes in pubs is unbelievable!
@HuwMerriman Thanks @HuwMerriman for posing this question. I do hope you manage to get the meeting requested so that the new Health Secretary may gain a better understanding of our sector from someone who has taken the time to understand it
Not to mention irreparable damage to the education of a generation of children. Shame that whiteboard at No 10 didn’t have “close borders now” on it in February 2020
@BorisJohnson Hindsight is a wonderful thing but if the government had shut down borders immediately and supported those businesses reliant on international travel we would have had far less deaths, thriving domestic economy, internal freedoms, travel (or lack thereof travel)
certainty around travel and I am sure less of a bill to the treasury for all of the furloughed domestic businesses! Instead we have had high death rate, constant rule changing, loss of civil liberties, destruction of businesses,
@grantshapps@BorisJohnson@POTUS@grantshapps here’s a thought how about a Taskforce to investigate why your previous two Taskforce forays were a complete disaster, got a hunch this will be a similar outcome, you never know 3rd time lucky 🍀
@swords_travel getting a shout out by their MP Stephen Hammond supporting plight of travel industry in the House of Commons Debate on Support for Aviation, Travel and Tourism Industries
Now bosses in the hospitality sector are in the paper calling on the government to end furlough early! There are other industries and people you clowns who are enormously restricted and suffering, I for one won’t be eating out to help you out
It’s superb that we have had more positive news and potential light at the end of the tunnel. It’s great that enquiries have surged. Good news is great but there is still a long path ahead for travel, I fear that too much talk of booming sales casts a shadow over the much
@CharlesWalkerMP finally an MP talking sense @BorisJohnson listen and take note - next Transport Secretary? Even better Minister for Travel and Tourism and let schapsy take care of space exploration
Just seen this advert-Government seeks to award £6bn contract to new technology company to create “minority report style” thought based technology to make thinking about having a holiday illegal #onlyfriendsneedapply
@banthamed Exactly what I said @banthamed him and schapps. I personally pledge to this! Alternatively it will be priced with 300% markup and profits donated to worthy cause
