@Timcast Global thurmo nuclear... power needed. No power plants in the freezer

[James🇺🇸 @JamesWebDev365]

@sakebu_cheese_ Reading the replies it's terrifying how few Americans must have ever sent a letter. So many people incorrectly saying it means you have mail 🤦it means you are sending a letter and would like the mail man to pick it up and send it.

[James🇺🇸 @JamesWebDev365]

@sameer_alnamri Sounds like a pokemon. Pigi use kebab attack... It's super effective.

@ChicknMcCrypto @Hexalyse @thecto @achesui_ @kartik_builds Blog articles like this are what lead to people using 404 badly. https://t.co/HSA0IBiSN7

[James🇺🇸 @JamesWebDev365]

@ChicknMcCrypto @Hexalyse @thecto @achesui_ @kartik_builds You've got my vote, no we just need to go rewrite all the blogs to talk about how to do a restful API.

[James🇺🇸 @JamesWebDev365]

@w0stn0 @Hexalyse @thecto @achesui_ @kartik_builds Yep, and ever since the other team at work decided 404 means no results I've been stuck catching exceptions instead of handling responses

[James🇺🇸 @JamesWebDev365]

@ChicknMcCrypto @Hexalyse @thecto @achesui_ @kartik_builds 100% agree with you, but the restful API crowd, 100% didn't care, and co-opted the status codes for their own conventions.

[James🇺🇸 @JamesWebDev365]

@Hexalyse @thecto @achesui_ @kartik_builds For a restful api 404 isn't an error it literally means not found. So for a search endpoint with no results the restful convention would return a 404. Personally i prefer 204 no content but if you talk to any restful Bros, they'll swear up and down that 404 is the right response
