@bruggshoops I agree wholeheartedly usually, but this time not so much. They had a guy who felt good enough to play, he did some pre game running and the chose to pull him. It is reasonable coaching to want a solid bat in the lineup vs Webb and to alter the plan a day after the injury
@CubbiesCrib They have solutions, but few managers will sit a vet who is so good defensively. The solution is a part time role, in pitching matchups that favor him. Hope that he can find some confidence and expand his role back up.
@ggabefootball@barstoolchicago No question they share the preponderance of the blame, but I refuse to give Warren a pass here. He complicated things for certain, whether by accident or design. McCaskey will take heat but all will be forgiven if the team wins and the stadium looks good.
@DaBearsk35@brendenmoore13 Understand your stance having spent all my life in IL and half in chicago. Warren is not blameless however and could have been less ego driven and less bouncing around choices. I do not think he shares equal blame but his issues complicated matters.
@Chicago_NFL@imperfecttl Someone in Bears top would prefer to stay in IL. It is the only reason the Indiana deal lingered unaccepted. Would imagine only way to stay would be 1) commit to stay in Chicago(motivating Chicago pols and 2) pony up some bribe money(likely help pay off SF debt). So..they're gone
@mark_giangreco@kfishbain@jon_greenberg Would anything get done in this case in Illinois? I get the we want to stay here, but then you'd get the Chicago politicians fighting AH tooth and nail. If he said we want to stay in chicago, Pritzker already shot one down and that does not take into account Friends of the Park.
@ScotBertram There will always be fans who disagree. They could build a beautiful venue, surrounded by wonderful Bears village type atmosphere(why do I doubt that this Bears leadership could pull that off anywhere) and there will be fans upset because they left Chicago.
@North2North@Harp4803@espn Doubt any lawsuits come to fruition and there will be people to replace STH that give up their seats.
Remember that Ryan is part of the Board. Perhaps the Board sees this as final move to get IL politicians making a move, but Ryan is involved.
@bheadr75@jacobinfante24 Honestly Sweat and Booker are fine edges that can defend the run and pressure the QB. It was the lack of DT play that most hurt the Bears in the run game and in the pass rush. If they cannot get more disruption from that group, the defense will likely struggle
@BearsKickAss85@Bullskickass Sure...now tell me a plan to do that? The Bears want to iwn their own stadium. That will not be SF. Could it be another site? Friends of the Park will battle anything on lakefront.
This was headed to Indiana the moment they quickly put a sweetheart deal together.
@adamjahns Chicago pols just want to screw the Bears. Doubt they actually care if a report says Indiana site would bring more money than AH. Utter disaster from start. Gov never wanted to do this until Ind entered. Inept Bears had no plan in place. Corrupt Chicago mayor is over his head.
@EDuerrwaechter About to? This fiasco has been a disaster going back to the purchase of the land without a plan. Literally everyone involved has miscalculated what this would take...from Warren and his "leadership" to the corruption that is Chicago/Illinois politics.
@Kirsten_Tanis1 Too many hands pulling their own way....illinois politics has always been corrupt or inept or both.
Since it has not happened yet, they likely still do not believe the Bears will choose Indiana.
But if tomorrow comes and nothing substantial is offered...blame game starts.
It's not Heaven(or Iowa) it's Bartlett. Field is ready for the Sectional Championship.
Good luck to @stce_softball and @FremdSoftball in their contest today.
