Them: are you one of those “black” Blacks that remind us we were enslaved on July 4th, 1776?
Me: yes, yes I am. There’s nothing for us to celebrate unless you are celebrating our ancestors being in chains watching their enslavers enjoy freedom. It’s not a real holiday
Boycotting is not the answer.
Business ownership and group economics are the solution.
Without having established an economic infrastructure of your/ our own, consumers eventually go back to patronizing the business(es) they are boycotting against.
I love my people. We will run around like chickens with our heads cut off when r*cist politicians gerrymander and redraw district maps, but, we will turn right around and pledge our every dollar to the corporations that fund them. We so crazy.
African Americans,
Until we put our money behind the candidates that we vote for, then we’re voting for ceremonial purposes, only. The money always comes before the honey!
Late take:
LeBron James should build a hotel in Memphis if he hates staying there when they play. Not only would it solve his lodging problem, but he could employ 100 black people overnight while adding another stream of revenue.
