Until those protections are in place, I believe we should hit pause. No corner of WNC is worth destroying for a data center that is going to hurt our environment, communities, or our way of life.

One thing I’ve heard more concerns about recently is the development of data centers here in Western North Carolina. I agree with the concerns and support the call for a short term moratorium on new data centers until we have clear rules in place to protect our communities.

We need a framework that protects our land, water, energy grid, and quality of life — and makes sure local communities have a real voice in these decisions.

Western North Carolina can't wait any longer for a representative who cares about the issues our communities are facing. In Congress, you can count on me to keep my word and fight for every investment we can get.

On the farm, whenever something needs to be fixed we get to it. If an animal gets loose, we catch it.

Things need to be done and we do them. It’s not always glamorous, but it’s important. It’s part of the job.

We don’t delay it. We don’t bring it up in meetings as a talking point. In the real world, you don’t have the luxury of letting things fail to prove a point.

So why does Congress get a pass to ignore, delay or stall out the issues impacting hard working people?
