@jeannevb Write the dialogue quickly to get out the beats you need. Then rewrite it as if that dialogue is the subtext (how do they hide it). Then truncate the thoughts- make them incomplete, add some of the spoken meaning to action lines, and have them interrupt each other. Good luck!
